MCHS Marine Corps JROTC

MCHS Marine Corps JROTC This page is for cadets, by cadets. Keep informed on civics, competitions and other events. Post photos here as well!

Founded at Michigan City HIgh School in 1996, the MCHS Marine Corps JROTC is first and foremost, a Leadership Education class. The primary goal is to instill a sense of confidence and leadership in all who walk into the classroom, while also educating students in military history, discipline, and personal appearance. Each week consists of 2 days of academic instruction, 1 day of Physical Training,

1 Uniform Inspection day, and 1 day of instruction in Close Order Drill. There are several ways to get involved in the program. The most popular way is through service to the Michigan City community. In the past we have worked with groups such as the Salvation Army, the Marine Corps League, The Wall Gang and The Guardian Riders. The Drill Team consists of 30-40 cadets and competes in meets in Indiana and Illinois. The Rifle Team has greatly evolved in recent years, shooting in as many as 6 postals per year.
