Our leadership team is in Albuquerque, New Mexico this week for Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Advanced Leadership Program!

Our organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last five years, and with growth comes the responsibility to build the capacity needed to create strong, successful, and sustainable Clubs for years to come.

Investing in our leaders and their professional development is an important part of that work. We’re excited to learn, grow, and plan for what’s next! 💙

There will be no school on Monday, September 14th, for students. This is a professional development day, so staff will be on campus. Enjoy your long weekend, and we will see you on Tuesday!

🎉 Our Fairland Playground Project is COMPLETE! 🎉

There’s nothing better than seeing a playground full of kids — and our Fairland Club members now have more room, safer spaces, and even more opportunities to PLAY! 💙

Thanks to the generous support of Cherokee Nation and the Fairland Masonic Lodge, we were able to make some BIG improvements to our outdoor space:

🛝 Installed our playground equipment
🌳 Expanded the playground fence, adding another 10,000 square feet for our kids to enjoy
🖤 Added rubber mulch throughout the play area to create a safer surface
☀️ Added a new shade structure
🪑 Added outdoor patio furniture to give kids and staff a place to gather, relax, and enjoy being outside

A huge thank you also goes to Service Solutions, Inc. for helping us bring all the pieces of this project together and get it across the finish line.

When we opened the Fairland Club, we knew our kids deserved a space that could grow right along with them. This project is another major investment in making sure Fairland kids have a safe, welcoming place to learn, play, build friendships and just be kids.

We are incredibly grateful to Cherokee Nation, the Fairland Masonic Lodge, Service Solutions, and everyone who continues to invest in the kids of Fairland. Come take a look at what you helped make possible! 💙

The Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa County is looking for Youth Development Professionals to join our After School team!

This is a great part-time job for college students, future teachers, anyone interested in working with kids, or someone looking for meaningful afternoon hours.

⭐ Flexible scheduling between 2:30–7:00 PM
⭐ Monday–Friday
⭐ No weekends!
⭐ Part-time
⭐ Make a real difference in the lives of local kids
⭐ And yes—you get paid to play games, shoot hoops, make crafts, and have fun!

Our Youth Development Professionals are the people who make the Club THE CLUB. They build relationships, plan fun activities, serve as positive role models, and help create a place where kids want to be every day.

🎉 Celebrating 14 Years of Cori! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating 14 incredible years of Cori McCorkell at Boys & Girls Club! 💙

Cori is truly a staple of our Fairland Club. Over the years, she has mentored, encouraged, and made a lasting impact on hundreds of kids in our community. Generations of Fairland kids have grown up knowing that Cori is someone who will show up for them, cheer them on, and probably challenge them to a game while she’s at it! 🏀

You can always count on Cori to jump right into a competition with the kids, teach them a new game, offer a word of encouragement, or simply make sure they know someone is in their corner.

14 years of showing up. 14 years of building relationships. 14 years of making a difference.

We are so grateful for everything you have poured into our kids and our Fairland community, Cori. Happy Club Anniversary! 💙🎉

📚 After School Program starts THIS WEEK!

Our staff have officially returned to Club sites, and we know many families have questions about how to enroll their child for the 2026–2027 school year. We’ve created these step-by-step graphics to walk you through the registration process and help make sure your child’s enrollment is complete!

Remember: all families must complete BOTH a new Membership Registration AND Program Registration, and payment must be made before enrollment is complete.

We’ll be at the Miami Public Schools and Afton Public Schools Open Houses this week to help families with registration and answer questions in person.

We made it! 🎉☀️

After an incredible summer filled with adventures, friendships, laughter, field trips, swimming, STEM, art, sports, and thousands of unforgettable memories, it's time for our team to take a well-deserved break.

All Boys & Girls Club locations will be closed August 3–7 as our staff recovers, recharges, and gets ready for another amazing school year. This includes our administrative offices.

To every parent who trusted us, every community partner who supported us, and every kid who made this summer so much fun... thank you. ❤️ You are the reason we love what we do.
