Today we had the privilege of attending Supporting Our Own, a training presented through the partnership between the National Mass Violence Center (NMVC) and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF).
The class focused on Mass Violence and its impact on emergency responders—the emotional, psychological, and operational challenges faced by those who answer the call during these unimaginable events.
As first responders, we train extensively for the tactical response, but it is equally important to prepare for the human impact that follows. This training reinforced the critical role of peer support, resilience, recognizing the signs of stress and trauma, and ensuring that those who serve others receive the care and support they deserve.
Thank you to NMVC and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation for your commitment to educating and equipping public safety professionals with the tools to care not only for our communities, but for one another.
When we support our own, we strengthen the entire public safety family.
