YDSA's annual convention is only a couple months away, and we need your help! 🌹

YDSA @ FIU will be sending 7 delegates to Chicago for convention at the end of July! Nominations for this role have opened, and elections will occur on the week of May 28, so please DM us if you are interested in learning more about becoming a convention delegate.

We are collecting donations to help these comrades in their journeys! If you'd like to donate, please scan the QR code in the flyer to contribute. Any amount is greatly appreciated, so please consider helping out!

YDSA's annual National Convention is just around the corner! Join us for Convention 101 on Monday, May 18 in PC 426 at 6pm to learn everything there is to know about this crucial upcoming event. We'll be discussing convention as a whole, including what it's for and why it's important, and detailing the specifics about this year's convention as well!

YDSA @ FIU will be sending 7 delegates to convention at the end of July! Nominations for this role will start the day after this event, Tuesday, May 19, and elections will follow the week after. We will also be collecting donations as well to help these comrades in their journeys! Stay tuned for more information regarding nominations, elections and the GoFundMe.

Hope you guys are having a great summer break! With classes resuming next week, we'll be starting our General Body Meetings again! Join us Thursday, May 7 at 6pm in room PC 332 for our first GBM of summer semester!

GBMs will continue weekly, every Wednesday at 6pm. Out of respect for the Miami Coalition to End the Blockade on Cuba's emergency meeting on May 6th, we have postponed this week's GBM until Thursday. If you are interested in learning more about the emergency meeting in solidarity with Cuba, please DM for more info.

Hope to see you all there on Thursday, May 7th at 6pm. As always, this will be a HYBRID meeting, so please DM us if you'd like to attend virtually!

It's finally time for summer break... hope spring semester treated all of you well and everyone got through finals! Heads up.. we won't be having any General Body Meetings until Wednesday, May 6, the week before summer semester starts.

GBMS will continue weekly on Wednesdays at 6pm just like before. Hope to see you all there, enjoy your summer break! ☀️

On April 24th, we held a very successful basics of labor organizing workshop! We also partnered with .in to provide free HIV testing and education!

Students and attendees were able to learn all about the basics of unionization. In this workshop, our wonderful leads explained workers rights, how to organize, and how to get your coworkers involved. We also discussed crucial information regarding national strikes, such as the awaited next week!
in also provided us with FREE HIV testing and education, gift cards, and goodie bags! Attendees were able to receive confidential, no needle, rapid 15 minute tests and get a treat in return! Thank you to the Benevolence Medical Services team for working with us to make sure our members are healthy, smart and safe!

We also had free coffee, cookies, and donuts in exchange for signing the Students Against Starbucks pledge!

MAY DAY IS ALMOST HERE. It's time to get organising and learn what you can do to join the union workers across the country to fight capitalist exploitation.

On May 1st, 2026, workers, students, and families around the nation will be taking action to demand their voice to be heard through a widespread boycott. No school. No work. No shopping.

Join us this Friday, April 24th, at FIU room GC316 for our YDSA Labor Training to learn everything you need to know about unionising in your workplace, what your rights are, how to organise and building buy-in from your coworkers.

Benevolence Medical Services will also be joining us on Friday offering FREE HIV testing, gift cards and care packages!
