Throwing it back to Baynanza on World Ocean Day! 🌊

Today, on World Ocean Day, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers, partners, and community members who help protect Miami-Dade’s waterways through , our annual Biscayne Bay cleanup.

For more than four decades, Baynanza has brought thousands of people together to remove debris, restore habitats, and show their love for Biscayne Bay.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make a difference, one cleanup at a time.

Together, we’re protecting the waters that connect our communities, support wildlife, and make Miami-Dade so special.

💙🌎 Happy World Ocean Day from the Miami-Dade County DERM team!

We are proud to announce that Loren Parra has been officially appointed as Director of the Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM).

Under her leadership, the newly independent DERM will work to create smart policy and meaningful investments to safeguard Miami-Dade’s air, land, and water, for generations to come.

The heat is ON in Miami-Dade, with feels-like temps climbing into the 90s and possibly higher in inland areas over the next few days. Above-average temperatures may affect individuals who are sensitive to heat.

If you’re sensitive to heat (or have pets), take steps to stay safe:
