Deputy Environmental Director Tabitha Langston, serving as Chair of the National Tribal Caucus (NTC), met with EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to advance discussions on human health and environmental protection in Indian Country. Joined by fellow members of the NTC Executive Committee, Langston participated in a reaffirmation of EPA’s Indian Policy, underscoring the agency’s commitment to Tribal sovereignty and the principles of trust responsibility.

For Tribal youth looking for summer work experience, especially in the environmental field, the Tar Creek Apprenticeship Program is still taking applications! Gain hands-on paid experience through a culturally-focused environmental apprenticeship program taking place from June 2nd-July 17th in Miami, Oklahoma (with a break the week of July 1st).
Applicants must be at least a rising high school senior (class of 2026) and cannot be over the age of 21.
