I couldn't have said it better…

Etiquette isn’t reserved for strangers or special occasions; it begins at home, in the quiet, everyday moments between two people who have chosen each other for life.

The small courtesies (speaking gently when we’re tired, listening fully when we disagree, saying thank you for the ordinary, apologizing quickly and sincerely) are the threads that have woven our marriage into something unbreakable. Politeness in love isn’t formal; it is reverence. It is choosing, every single day, to treat the person I love most with the same grace I’d offer anyone else, and infinitely more tenderness.

Judge Benjamin and I could never have built this beautiful life together (the home filled with laughter, the partnership that has weathered every season, the deep trust that lets two strong wills thrive) without the daily practice of etiquette and mutual, bone-deep respect. He upholds civility in his courtroom; I teach it to my clients and to today's youth. At home, we live it. We protect each other’s dignity even in the private moments no one else will ever see.

That quiet commitment to honor one another is the real foundation of our love. We are forever grateful that our careers and our hearts align in this sacred mission of civility, because a life built on genuine courtesy and unshakable respect isn’t just beautiful; it is enduring.

I am honored to share my recent appointment as administrative judge of the Traffic Division of Miami Dade County Courts. This esteemed position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of countless community members.

With over a million cases processed annually, the Traffic Division engages with more members of the public than any other division. For many, this will be their sole interaction with the justice system, highlighting the critical importance of fostering perceptions of fairness and equity.

I am steadfast in my commitment to upholding the principles of justice and integrity. Collaborating closely with my esteemed colleagues, I will work diligently to enhance the public’s trust in our Circuit and to promote a transparent and equitable justice system.

I am sincerely grateful for the community’s unwavering support and am eager to embrace the challenges and opportunities that this role presents. Together, we shall strive to uphold the values that strengthen our community.

… last week was bitter sweet - it marks the halfway point of my 1st year on the Bench and I’ve presided over 14 trials to verdict (13 jury and 1 bench) and had the opportunity to guide, coach, and mentor an amazing group of young attorneys (that I will always remember). but today also marks the last day of my full time assignment at the Richard E Gerstein Justice Building … it has been a truly wonderful experience. Starting this Monday I will took the Bench at the North Dade Justice Center - it’s a 2nd homecoming for me and I look forward to this new assignment.

1. Hearing traffic infractions - Traffic Hearing Officers preside over most civil traffic violations, including moving and non-moving infractions like speeding, careless driving, and seatbelt violations.

2. Presiding over parking violations - The court also handles parking violations.

3. Ruling on civil traffic motions -Traffic Hearing Officers handle most civil traffic motions.

4. Assessing penalties - The court assesses penalties for traffic violations, which may include fines, points on a driver’s license, and traffic school attendance.
