King tides are expected today, October 22 through Friday, October 30, with the highest tides predicted on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27.

These higher-than-normal tides may cause flooding in low-lying areas throughout the city.

According to the National Weather Service, coastal flooding impacts are expected along the East Coast through early next week.

Avoid floodwaters and report flooding to our 24/7 Public Works Control Room by calling 305.673.7625, emailing [email protected] or using the Miami Beach Gov app.

10/30 at 1:16 a.m. & 1:07 p.m.

Water levels can remain noticeably high for 1.5 to 2 hours before and after peak times. The peak times vary throughout Miami Beach based on location and do not include additional factors such as wind or rain. According to the National Weather Service, coastal flooding impacts are expected along the East Coast through early next week.

Congratulations to our Dispatcher Jessica Lopez and high school senior Sofia on their well-deserved recognition from the Miami Beach Hispanic Affairs Committee! 👏

Dispatcher Lopez was recognized with the Public Service Award for her dedication to serving our community and her ability to handle emergency calls quickly and effectively.

Sofia, a high school senior, was also recognized for her achievements and hopes to pursue a career as a firefighter after graduation.

We’re incredibly proud of both of them!

That’s a wrap on our 3-day Children’s Fire Safety Festival! 🚒🔥

Over the past three days, we’ve had the opportunity to welcome students from across Miami-Dade County for a fun-filled experience learning important fire safety skills that could one day save a life.

A big thank you to Jackson Health System, City of Hialeah Fire Department, Miami Fire Rescue, Corals Gables Fire Department, Key Biscayne Fire Rescue, Homestead Air Reserve Base Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for working together to make this event possible.

We hope all these students take what they’ve learned home to their families and continue practicing fire safety every day.

Miami Beach OCEAN Heroes is the newest exhibition coming to the city’s outdoor gallery, Galería Ocean Drive, and it will be officially unveiled on Thursday, November 5 at 4 p.m.

In celebration of the Ocean Rescue Centennial, this free exhibition honors our Coastal Guardians — the organizations and volunteers dedicated to protecting our beaches, ocean, wildlife and coastal environment.
