Bravo Zulu to Flotilla 6-11 members David Adams, Victor Garcia-Barreras, and Roxana Mendez for providing courtesy vessel safety checks (VSC) at Crandon Park Marina ahead of Lobster Mini-Season, Jul. 24, 2018.

Lobster mini-season began 12:01 a.m. this morning and ends 12:00 midnight on Thursday. The regular recreational and commercial lobster season runs from Aug. 6, 2018 through Mar. 31, 2019.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary encourages local mariners to get a VSC, file a Float Plan, double-check your flares, and make sure you have a working radio. We also remind divers to check your equipment before getting in the water.

Lobster mini-season kicks off at midnight and on Tuesday, officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard were giving the 411 on safety and regulations.
