✨Chiefsgiving Miami Beach 2025✨

Once again, the Greater Miami Area CPOA proved that the Chiefs Mess will wake up early, cook for 250 people, and still find time to roast each other harder than the prime rib because nothing says “holiday spirit” like rolling out of bed at an ungodly hour, cooking everything in-house, and pretending we’re not exhausted by 0900.

But honestly, It’s one of our favorite days.
Good music, one of the best galley views in the entire Coast Guard, and a Chiefs Mess that always goes all in Miami style. 🌴🔥

Like all in all in.

Like 250+ meals and still smiling all in.

Menu?
Oh, you know… just:
🥩 Prime rib
🍗 Smoked turkey
🍖 Ham
🦃 ALL the traditional fixings
And this year, Handy our resident Renaissance Fair connoisseur made sure the cavemen among us got their turkey legs, saving the rest of us from watching a full medieval reenactment break out in the galley.

Service style?
Five-star weird.
We had Chiefs serving plates, Chiefs strolling the line with hors d’oeuvres (very “Miami holiday yacht party” 😜), and new this year, holiday drinks served by Chiefs to keep the crowd festive and hydrated… in that order.

In total, we fed everyone on Causeway Island, kept the vibe high with good music, and somehow didn’t burn the place down.

A win for Miami.

And a massive win for the Chiefs who now definitely need a nap. 😂

but more importantly, a chance to serve our fellow brothers and sisters in blue, and all those who support us.

That’s what makes Chiefsgiving special.

Same chaos next year just bigger, louder, and with more turkey legs. 🦃🔥🌴

And while many of us are home enjoying the holidays, let’s not forget the ones who aren’t. Across the service, there are shipmates standing the watch away from their families so the mission doesn’t stop. Take a minute to think of them, give thanks, and send a little appreciation their way.

Who wants a pizza party? Well, not us! Not even a tropical storm could keep the Miami CPOA from cooking. First and foremost, we can’t possibly express how much appreciation we have for everyone in the greater Miami area for all that they do. ChiefsGiving is a small way we can give thanks to everyone. Thank you to everyone who weathered the storm and overfilled their plates. Thanks to the Chiefs who came and volunteered, putting on an amazing spread! A big shout-out to our leader, CSC Karyna Rais and her team, for taking a bunch of Chiefs and turning them into CS’s. Next time you see a CS, thank them for what they do!

Members of the Greater Miami area commands gathered at the Marlins stadium with fellow first responders and law enforcement partners to pay tribute and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001.

Check out this video from today events that show all the first responders completing stair climbs starting at 0846 and completing at 1028, some with 45lbs of added weight to simulate the weight of fire fighting gear the responders wore during sept. 11th.

Happy birthday, Chiefs!

Happy Birthday, Chiefs! On this day in 1920, the 66th US Congress officially approved and established the grade of Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard!

We’d also like to offer a hearty congratultions to our newest initiated Real Chiefs, for sticking out eight weeks of CCTI where they developed as leaders, team members, friends and - even better - new Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association (CPOA) members! Chiefs lead the way in our service, not just in experience and knowledge, but also in supporting our members, advocating to those above and alongside us, and playing integral roles in our families and communities. Bravo Zulu to these and all the Chiefs who have served!
