I’m truly honored to receive the Hometown Hero Award from Girl Scout Troop 1924! 💚 I’m grateful that my work in resiliency, animal welfare, and support for the LGBTQ community resonated with them.

I’m especially excited that members of the troop will be partnering with the Kitty Campus for their annual project. What a meaningful way to give back and make a difference for animals in our community.

Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau meeting today at the beautifully renovated Freedom Tower. It’s a place that holds deep personal meaning for me, as my mother passed through its doors after arriving from Cuba as a child.

Today’s discussion highlighted the continued strength of our tourism industry, including rising hotel average daily rates and the significant economic impact driven by major events like the College Football Championship and others hosted across our city.

Just as important is the role the GMCVB plays in keeping our Miami Beach Convention Center active and competitive by marketing our destination globally and helping fill more than 22,000 hotel rooms across our community. Resort taxes generated by tourism help fund essential services and keep the tax burden lower for our residents.

I had the opportunity to tour the Delano Hotel last week. It's one of Miami Beach’s most iconic and special properties.

I couldn’t help but reflect on the glamour and beauty that defined this historic hotel for so many years. The renovation has been done with great care, preserving the character and distinctive elements that made it so memorable.

Looking forward to its official reopening and the next chapter for this landmark.

Once a magnet for the fashion and music sets of the 1990s, the hotel has been rebranded as a wellness-leaning space with nonalcoholic cocktails and a spa with a communal sauna.

Honored to attend the opening of the new Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center at Mount Sinai. Joined by community leaders and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a longtime Braman family friend, we celebrated a major milestone for healthcare in our region.

This state-of-the-art center will be truly transformative for Miami Beach and South Florida, expanding access to cutting-edge cancer care, research, and lifesaving treatments.

🐢4th Annual Turtle Fest at Altos Del Mar Park! 🌊
It’s officially turtle season (April 1 – Oct 31), which means our local beaches are busy hosting some very special guests. To help the hatchlings make it to the ocean safely, remember to use amber bulbs and lower-watt lighting at night if your property is ocean-side. Standard white lights can disorient the babies, leading them away from the water.

Let’s keep the “glow” low so they can find their way home! 💡🐢
