Severe weather continues to be expected this afternoon and evening. All severe hazards (large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes) will be possible. However, large hail will be the primary threat during initial stages of storm development, with damaging winds becoming more likely as storms congeal into lines or clusters. Isolated tornadoes are also possible, especially if storms remain discrete. Stay weather aware today!

Possibility of some damaging weather this afternoon and evening. Please stay safe.

Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon over northeast Missouri and west central Illinois and become more widespread this evening. These storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, a few tornadoes, and locally heavy rainfall. The storms will decrease in intensity as they move to the southeast late this evening and overnight.

Make a plan and stick to it! If you plan to celebrate tonight, please do so responsibly. Arrange a safe way home, watch out for each other, and have a great time. If you are offered a safe ride home, take it. No reason to argue or think you are 'good enough' to do it on your own. What is it hurting? Not one first responder wishes to deliver somber news.
