25TH ANNIVERSARY 9/11 MEMORIAL WALK
September 11, 2026 – Mexico Beach City Hall, 201 Paradise Path
Join the Mexico Beach Fire Department and City of Mexico Beach employees as we come together to honor and remember the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the families forever changed on September 11, 2001.
🚶♂️ Memorial Walk: 7:46 AM – 8:59 AM
We will begin our walk at 7:46 AM Central Time, corresponding with 8:46 AM Eastern Time—the moment the first plane struck the North Tower. We will walk together in remembrance, reflecting on the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown that day.
🚒 At 8:59 AM Central Time, corresponding with **9:59 AM Eastern Time—the time the South Tower fell—we will sound the air horn on the fire truck. The air horn is a universal emergency alert to evacuate, serving as a powerful reminder of the alarms and calls to action that echoed throughout that morning.
We will then observe a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives.
🙏 Following the moment of silence, Chaplain Bates Richmond will lead us in prayer.
