🧩 Putting the Pieces Together for Georgia MTSS!

Today, FDRESA Whole Child Supports welcomed new GaMTSS/PBIS Coaches and District Coordinators for a morning of learning, collaboration, and connection focused on helping schools put all the pieces of a strong multi-tiered system of supports together.

Participants explored GaMTSS updates and recognition fidelity tools, PBIS within MTSS, practical tips from an experienced coach, and the new GaDOE recognition data platform. They also had opportunities to collaborate, ask questions, share experiences, and identify next steps for supporting implementation in their schools and districts.

🧩 Throughout the morning, participants added questions, “aha” moments, takeaways, and feedback to puzzle pieces, helping guide our conversations and reinforce an important message: every piece matters when building a strong system of support for ALL students.

Some of our favorite takeaways included:
💬 “I always appreciate hearing from another school—what was successful!”
💬 “Very helpful to see a multi-year timeline example of a school!”
💬 “Aha—we can go slow!”

We are grateful for the coaches and district leaders who joined us today and for their commitment to strengthening GaMTSS implementation and school improvement. Special thanks to Effingham County Middle School AP, Bilinda Sikes, for sharing insights as a second year coach. Together, we’re putting the pieces together—one school, one system, and one student at a time. 💙🧩

📚 FDRESA is working alongside literacy coaches across all 20 of our school districts! 💙
Our FDRESA Regional Literacy team is modeling effective coaching strategies—demonstration lessons, co-planning, data conversations, reflective questioning, goal setting, and meaningful feedback—that coaches can take back and use with teachers in their schools. By building the capacity of our coaches, we’re strengthening literacy instruction one classroom at a time!
