Images from today’s remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, September 11, 2001. Chief Dave Toto hosted the proceedings from our Central Fire Station. Mayor Beauregard spoke and also presented a Methuen-exclusive video that he secured from former President George W. Bush, sharing some remarks on what occurred on that fateful day. Assistant Chief Dan Donahue read the Firefighters’ Prayer and blessings were offered by Captain Sue Vallera along with Pastor Nat Burnes of First Baptist Church, and our MFD Chaplain. Retired Lieutenant Jim Garrity gave a stirring rendition of our National Anthem. Those in attendance sat attentively as Firefighter Xavier Marte rang our Memorial bell in honor of those we lost on 9/11/01 including six Methuen natives who are remembered on Patriots Bridge. We'd also like to thank Methuen Key Program Supervisor Jerrid Kenney who gave our Department 25th Anniversary Remembrance Tokens. It was a solemn and honorable ceremony, supporting the fact that, truly, we shall never forget.

EXTENDED HOURS: September 9, 16, 23, 30 & October 7, 14, 21, 28. Will be open Wednesday 4-7 P.M. (with 2 exceptions)

Step outside our regular schedule & enjoy engaging activities designed to bring people together to socialize, learn and just have fun! Every night during extended hours, you will also be able to play billiards, ping pong, dominoes and 45's.

Please join us on Friday, 9/11/26 as we honor the many lives lost on September 11, 2001. This Remembrance Ceremony recognizes the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and gives our community a chance to mourn and remember.

As the sun sets on another wonderful season, we want to let you know that Forest Lake’s last day open for Summer 2026 will be August 26th.🗓

We’ve had a 'splash-filled' summer ☀️ at the lake with the Methuen residents, and we are so grateful for the memories made on our shores.

As we pack up for the season 🍂🍁, we're reminded of the saying, 'The lake is where the heart finds its rest.' Thank you for making this summer so special.
