VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Welcome to Changemakers Lab, an interactive VBS where children learn that everyone can make a difference in the world!

The five Bible stories in this curriculum explore examples of people who experienced and brought about change in the world around them. These people provide a model for asking hard questions, working together to solve problems, reaching across differences, caring for all people, and imagining a new world. Through worship and drama, Bible study, STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, art, math), and active games, children are invited to see and experience the transforming love of God. Grounded in God’s love, children can use their unique gifts to make a difference wherever they go!

June 5–9 from 9:00-11:30 am at Metamora Mennonite Church.

Ages are preschool thru just finished 5th grade.

Students should bring water, and make sure they are prepared to be outside: sunscreen, hats, etc.

Citizens will be sharing their beautiful music with us here at Metamora Mennonite Church.
We welcome all who are seeking, all who are thirsty, all who are in need of a deeper soul connection with their Creator.

The 2022 Community Holiday Gift Card Drive (formerly called Community Holiday Food Basket Drive) is again focusing on providing Metamora Kirby Foods gift cards to area residents prior to Thanksgiving. This drive is possible due to the generous donations from our community and area churches. Every donation counts in helping make another family’s holiday a little brighter. You can help by donating to the Community Holiday Gift Card Drive. Envelopes are in the back of the church. Checks can be made out to Community Holiday Baskets. Deliver or mail donations to Commerce Bank, Englewood Drive, Metamora, IL 61548, or drop in the collection basket. Anyone who lives in the Metamora Township High School district or attends the schools in our district, with food insecurities, are eligible for a gift card. The gifts cannot be used for to***co or alcohol. Please contact Becky Weber at 309-369-1133 or [email protected].
If you choose email, please be sure to get a confirmation from Becky. Please do not assume you are on the list without a confirmation. If you are submitting a family’s name, please be sure to contact the family first and ask if they are willing to accept a gift card. We need all gift cards to be picked up on Saturday November 19, 2022.

During this Holiday Season, the pantry will not be open on Saturday, December 25th and Saturday, January 1st. The pantry will be open on the Tuesdays before and after from 9-11:45 am.

At this time, the pantry will still be open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 am to 11:45 am. Pre-packed boxes will be delivered to you in your car, along with frozen meats. Thank you for your understanding!

All of the pie preparations are cancelled for next week, as the Relief Sale has been cancelled. Ruthie Roth, from the Relief Sale Board said, "because of the worldwide crisis, the best thing to do right now is cancel, but we will possibly do something later. Please pray for them and for the decisions yet to be made."

Last night I received a call from the Eden Tour manager informing me that they will be POSTPONING the tour until the fall. They are canceling not because of fear of the Coronavirus specifically but rather the fear of potential travel bands that could come. The band travels from Virginia, Colorado, and Nashville. The risk of not being able to return home to families weighed heavily in their decision.
Although a disappointment the good news is that it will be postponed and we will have a new date soon!
For those who purchased tickets through Eventbrite you will receive a refund in the next couple of days. For those who purchased tickets in person we will get your refund to you soon as well.
We hope that the future date will work for everyone who planned on attending the event.
