The village office has received several phone calls regarding a Melissa Goedert from IGS Energy soliciting energy rates related to Toledo Edison bills. Ms. Goedert did obtain a Solicitorโ€™s permit today allowing her to go door to door. ๐๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ž ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ž, the Village of Metamora, and its in-town residents, are currently in contract with Dynegy Energy Services, an electric aggregate program, where our residents are locked in at a rate of 9.49 cents ($0.0949) per kWh. The contract is good with Dynegy through June of 2027 for which residents were automatically enrolled, as long as you did not sign paperwork to โ€œopt outโ€.

As a homeowner, you do have the personal choice to opt out of the electric aggregate program with the village at any time, but PLEASE make sure you are aware of how long you are locked into the rate that they quote you and what happens after your contract is up. Many companies get you to sign on for a lower rate than at the end of your contract, increase your rate significantly. On behalf of the village, we do this research for you and work to find the best rates for our residents and want to make sure you research this thoroughly before making any changes with your aggregate company.

POLL QUESTION. In regards to movie night at the park this past weekend, our turnout was not as good as in the past. We can only assume that maybe it was due to re-scheduling from Friday to Saturday; due to the air quality from the Canadian wildfires, family vacation or is it the time of the year that we host? Therefore we are asking for the publicโ€™s feedback so we can better plan for next year. What month would work out better for your family:

Mid July
or
Mid September?

We are wondering if September, after kids are in school and summer vacations are over, if that would work better for families. We would probably stick to a Friday night (Saturday re-schedule date) but if in September plan a Friday night when the football game would be away & not a home game.
