Counseling
JFS counseling services are designed to provide guidance and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, and children of all faiths. Our licensed professional staff can assist with a wide variety of therapeutic needs:

We offer services in all three of our offi

ces – Uptown, Metairie, and Northshore. Lifeline
Lifeline is a personal emergency response system which provides a 24-hour access to emergency services. The system is easy to use and designed to reduce the risk of living alone. Homemaker
The JFS Homemaker program is an in-home assistance for disabled or older adults. Since 1975, JFS homemakers have been helping people with tasks of daily living, and ensuring both safety and independence of individuals in their home. Case Management
Case Management is the vital link that provides not only concrete solutions, but also emotional support and peace of mind. JFS has a professional case management staff. Teen Life Counts
Established in 1984, Teen Life Counts is a school-based suicide prevention and awareness program. TLC uses a professional staff and 35 trained community volunteers to teach an educational suicide prevention program in public, private, and parochial schools. Bikur Chaverim
Bikur Chaverim, which literally means “friendly visiting”, is a volunteer-based program designed to bring support and companionship to those who are alone. The program is dedicated to adults who are homebound or partially homebound. Groups
Among the many services offered by JFS, there are several support groups designed to help peers and families cope together with various life challenges. Jewish Community

JFS is pleased to offer adoption home studies, pre-adoption counseling and post-placement studies. Financial Resource Center

A heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers who helped make the 2026 Bruce Levy Memorial JFS Passover Food Basket Program a fantastic success again this year! With their support, JFS reached over 300+ community members and families who face financial and physical challenges that make celebrating Pesach without support very difficult. Thank you for helping us ensure that everyone has a seat at our Seder table this year!
