Mesquite ISD Education Foundation

Mesquite ISD Education Foundation Bringing teacher ideas, hopes, and dreams to life for MISD students. The founders of this organization come from a cross section of the community.
(1)

They have a vision of excellence for the school district, but realize that the lack of funds, both state and local taxpayer dollars, limits programs and services to students. To alleviate that problem, the Foundation actively seeks donors from among alumni, citizens, businesses, corporations and other foundations. Funds donated by the greater community enhance innovative programs that benefit stud

ents and support teacher initiatives and growth. The Foundation seeks to create a permanent endowment that supplements public education dollars. Programs are funded from donations and endowment earnings.

Congratulations to Kaden Montes, a senior at Vanguard High School, on being selected as the recipient of the Hubert & Georgia Rossin Scholarship!

Established by former Mesquite ISD Superintendent Dr. David Vroonland and his wife, Joy, this scholarship honors Hubert and Georgia Rossin, whose loving foster home helped shape Dr. Vroonland's life and future.

Inspired by the belief that every child deserves a supportive and caring home, this scholarship recognizes the lasting impact that foster parents and caregivers have on the lives of children.

We are proud to recognize Kaden as this year's recipient and wish him continued success at the University of North Texas next year!

Congratulations to Aiyana Levy and Montserrat Loya, recipients of the Mesquite ISD Education Foundation's $500 Marketing Internship Scholarships!

As graduating seniors in the Vanguard High School School of Technology Graphic Design Program, Aiyana and Montserrat have shared their creativity and talent while supporting the Foundation's marketing efforts for our signature gala and concert fundraiser.

These outstanding students are part of only the second year of the internship program that connects students to real-world projects and experiences, preparing them to excel in the workforce.

A special thanks to Mrs. Alyssa Gutierrez, Graphic Design Teacher at Vanguard High School, for supporting this program and for her dedication to developing students' skills and preparing them for success beyond the classroom.

We are thrilled to celebrate an extraordinary achievement by two Mesquite ISD educators!

Denese Iglehart-Mashell from Judge Frank Berry Middle School and Mariely Garcia from Agnew Middle School have been named recipients of the prestigious Texas Instruments Foundation Innovations in STEM Teaching Award.

Thanks to the generosity of the Texas Instruments Foundation, each award recipient receives $10,000 personally and an additional $10,000 to enhance STEM programs and opportunities for students on their campus.

Since 2012, only 30 Mesquite ISD STEM teachers have earned this distinguished honor, making this achievement especially meaningful.

This recognition celebrates educators who inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and prepare students for success in an ever-changing world. We are incredibly proud of Denese and Mariely for the impact they make every day in the lives of their students.
