After giving it some thought, we’ve decided to postpone our upcoming C.A.R.E.S. volunteer weekend at Valor Ranch.

Between the Texas summer heat and this being one of the busiest times of year for many of our members, we feel it’s best not to ask anyone to spend their weekend working outdoors after putting in long hours on the jobsite. Your health and safety will always come first.

This isn’t goodbye—just a pause. We’ll pick things back up this fall when the temperatures are cooler and we can give this project the time and energy it deserves.

We can’t thank everyone enough who has supported Valor Ranch so far. The work we’ve accomplished together has already made a real difference, and we’re excited to get back out there to continue helping this incredible organization and the veterans they serve.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, stay safe, and keep an eye out for our fall volunteer dates. We hope to see even more of our UA Local 100 family join us then!

Some projects build fences. Others build brotherhood and sisterhood.

Our UA Local 100 C.A.R.E.S. crew is heading back to Valor Ranch to continue building the cattle fencing that will help the ranch become more self-sufficient in feeding the women veterans who call it home.

This isn’t just about welding pipe or setting steel. It’s about using the skills we’ve spent years learning to make a lasting impact on people who have already sacrificed so much for our country.

Whether you’re an experienced welder, a first-year apprentice looking to lend a hand, or simply someone who wants to give back, there’s a place for you.

This will be our last summer trip to Valor Ranch before we pause until the cooler fall months. Once the Texas heat sets in and conditions become too dry, we don’t want to risk the safety of our volunteers or create a fire hazard.

If you’ve been thinking about coming out, this is the perfect opportunity.

What started as a volunteer project is quickly becoming something much bigger.
This July 10th–12th, UA Local 100 C.A.R.E.S. will be heading back to Valor Ranch to continue work on projects that directly impact the lives of the women veterans who call the ranch home.
The first trip showed what can happen when skilled tradespeople come together with a common purpose. Now we’re looking to build on that momentum.
We’re not asking for an entire weekend if you can’t spare one. If you can give a day, great. If you can only come out for part of a day, we’ll take it. Every hour donated and every hand on site helps move the project forward.
This will also be our final Valor Ranch work weekend of the summer. As temperatures continue to rise and conditions become drier, we’re choosing to prioritize the safety of our volunteers and reduce the risk of fire hazards on the property. We’ll return in the fall to continue the work, but this is the last opportunity to join us before our summer break.
Too often people assume someone else will step up. This is your chance to be that someone.
Whether you’re a welder, plumber, pipefitter, HVAC tech, apprentice, journeyman, retiree, family member, or friend of the Local, there is a place for you on this project. The work matters, the impact is real, and the people you’re helping will never forget it.
If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved with C.A.R.E.S., this is it.

Today was a good day. Bbq, rides, years of service recognition, fried pie eating contest, bingo, snow cones, dessert contest, fun, laughter, friendship, family, and the list goes on. Thank you to everyone that attended.

Thank you to everyone that helped out in any way. There is so much that goes into this and everyone that played a part is appreciated more than you know.

We were running around like crazy and didn’t take as many pics as we would like. If you were there today and took any pictures we would love to see them.

When the Call Went Out, UA Local 100 Answered.

This weekend, a dedicated group of UA Local 100 members volunteered their time, skills, and hard work at Valor Ranch as part of our C.A.R.E.S. program.

Together, we kicked off the first phase of a multi-weekend project to build a cattle fence that will help the ranch raise its own beef and move closer to long-term self-sufficiency. What may look like a fence to some is much more than that—it’s an investment in a mission that supports women veterans as they rebuild their lives and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.

Projects like this don’t happen because someone writes a check. They happen because skilled men and women are willing to show up, put on their work boots, and use their trade to make a difference.

Every weld, every cut, and every hour donated this weekend brought us one step closer to helping Valor Ranch expand its ability to serve those who have already served our country.

This project is far from finished, and we’ll be back out there in the coming months. If you’ve ever wondered how you can give back through your trade, this is it. Whether you’re a welder, pipefitter, plumber, HVAC technician, apprentice, or retiree, there’s a place for you on projects like these.

The strength of our union isn’t measured only by the work we do on the jobsite—it’s measured by what we’re willing to do for our communities when nobody is watching.
