When Suzanne lost her wedding ring stack at a Mesa soccer field, she thought it was gone forever. Luckily our crews came to help.

The rings represented decades of memories with her husband, Kurt—her engagement ring, anniversary bands, and 50th birthday milestone ring—collected throughout their 27-year marriage.

“That was my cherished thing and it had so much meaning behind it... [replacing it] is not the same, it's the sentimentality,” Suzanne said.

After a sleepless night, she called Mesa Parks and Recreation for help.

Our Parks team went above and beyond, redirecting staff to search the field until the rings were found.

“It's just a complete and utter miracle and I can't believe how kind they were. They took the time out for me…they went out of their way for a stranger.”

Thank you to our City of Mesa Parks and Recreation team for turning a heartbreaking loss into a joyful reunion. ❤️

Service runs in the family for Danny and Daniel, a father-son duo with nearly 60 years of combined service to Mesa.

For Danny, one reason the City became a family tradition is simple: the benefits. As a father of four, he says the City’s benefits package helped him provide for his family and made City employment a career worth recommending to his children.

Danny has spent at total of 38 years in Solid Waste, while his son, Daniel, started with the City at age 19 and has now spent 20 years in Water Resources.

Happy Father’s Day to Danny, Daniel and all the dads helping make Mesa a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Thanks to our Mesa dads and father figures for their timeless, great advice. And of course, what's Father's Day without sharing a dad joke.

- Why did the dad cross the road?
Because the chicken needed a day off. 🐔

Happy Father's Day!

Not quite.
