We lost our brother Kirkland Nish. Mr Nish worked with our program from 2011 until 2017 during the period of time we built the Pima Agency Type II IA Crew. He was a mentor to young firefighters, a friend to many and our brother. He will be deeply missed. His family has asked that we share the following statement and information about his memorial.

It is with great sadness that I, Roberta Smith, along with, Christopher Nish, announce the loss of our Son, Kirkland Nish. Brother to Melissa Nish, Venessa Nish, Isaiah Smith, Lane Nish, and Kyle Nish. Father to Lamar Nish, Uriah Nish, Nehemiah Jones, Maliyah Nish, and Kailob Nish.

Kirkland, whom unexpectedly took his life on Sunday, August 23, due to a continuous battle with depression and PTSD, will be missed dearly. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
