AMR employees respond to challenging calls with their partners every day. But some situations demand teamwork across multiple ambulance crews, fire departments, and community members.

That’s exactly what happened when the crew of AMR 598 recently responded to a call where the lives of a young child and a mother hung in the balance. Paramedic Zach Lee and EMT Craig Lawrence worked alongside Rural Metro firefighters and a second ambulance staffed by AMR teammates Nicholas Snyder and Bri Ferguson.

Together, they managed an active labor situation and a cardiac arrest at the same time.

Their efforts ensured both patients made it through — and both are expected to make a full recovery.

They performed their duties despite extraordinary emotional and clinical challenges, demonstrating exceptional composure, clinical excellence, teamwork, and professionalism.

Thank you to these San Tan Valley crews, Engine 843 and Ladder 845, for your excellence in care. We are proud to have you on our team.

AMR Central Arizona is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement this month.

Through our partnership with Maricopa Community College and Phoenix College, a dedicated group of AMR employees have successfully completed all required training to become state licensed paramedics.

Earning paramedic certification demands countless hours of rigorous training, studying, and personal sacrifice. The commitment these selected AMR first responders have shown to serving others in the communities of Arizona is truly remarkable.

Did you know that AMR Central Arizona provides event medical services for sporting events at several stadiums across Arizona?

This past week, Supervisors Patrick Paskiewicz and Scott Booth took time to thank our crews who were on standby for medical needs while supporting the Arizona Diamondbacks.

A smile and a special treat can go a long way—and hopefully help our D-backs too! They’re currently in the running for a wild-card playoff spot in the National League West.

Thanks to our team and everything they do to keep fans safe across the Valley.

One of the hardest things AMR team members face is the loss of a person at an emergency scene — especially when that individual leaves others behind.

There are moments when interventions are limited and the outcome is beyond our control. However, crews still meet those moments with professionalism, compassion, and quiet strength.

And sometimes…. even in tragedy, something meaningful rises from it.

Meet this lovely greyhound dog.(mix)

She was the beloved pet of a patient in Pinal County who lost their life.

When AMR EMTs and paramedics arrived, they found the pet scared and alone, hiding beneath a nearby tree after the call.

The crew not only tended to any injuries she had and arranged immediate veterinary care — one of them went further. EMT Katherine Wright adopted the pet, giving her a second chance at life and allowing her to carry her owner’s memory forward.

Thank you to the team who responded that day:

-EMT Brandon Morrison, Paramedic Derek Carrell, Paramedic Ryan Edwards, EMT Nathaniel Hill

This group made a lasting impact. In the middle of loss, they protected a life that mattered to the patient — and helped their legacy continue in a small but powerful way.

This incredible photo was captured by AMR paramedic during the White Swan Fire in Yakima County. As conditions rapidly changed and crews were forced to evacuate due to an abrupt wind shift, Andre managed to snap this powerful image that perfectly captures the intensity and unpredictability of the incident. According to Andre, the fire went from being about a half-mile away to within roughly 100 feet of their command post in just minutes. Thankfully Andre and his partner are safe and sound!

We're grateful for the dedication of first responders who work in challenging and dangerous conditions to support their communities. Thank you to all the agencies and crews who responded and helped keep others safe.

🚑🔥 Stay safe out there, and thank you Andre, for sharing this remarkable perspective from the front lines.

EMT Jacob Dindinger is in our thoughts today after paying the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you for your service. May your legacy live on in the future generations serving those in need.

Today, we pause to remember our brother, fallen EMT Jacob Dindinger. Jacob was critically injured on July 18, 2021 and eventually succumbed to his injuries on this date in 2021. His legacy continues with a scholarship in his name to help others reach their goal of becoming an EMT. Please take time to remember him as well as the family he left behind. We will never forget those who make the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live. May he continue to rest in peace.

As America prepares to celebrate Independence Day, AMR teams were on hand this past week to celebrate the birth of a new city.

The City of San Tan Valley was officially born on July 1.

This rapidly growing community of over 100,000 people in northern Pinal County showcased what America is all about. AMR participated in its first ever town festival.

The day could not have gone better with great food, arts and crafts, and a USA drone show to finish off the evening.

Thank you to our team who provides 911 coverage around the clock to this brand new, and rapidly growing community.

Whether it’s 250 years strong, or day 1 of a new city, GMR teams will always be there to answer the call! Thank you for all you do.

AMR Central Arizona was honored this past week to support Banner Health in Glendale along with the city’s first responders and the Phoenix Suns as a new vision for patient care was unveiled in the West Valley. 🚑 🏥 🏀

The team put the final touches on an expansion of their emergency department at Thunderbird Hospital, including a fully renovated patient care area.

This significant project will greatly enhance emergency services, including pediatrics, to better serve the growing healthcare needs of the western Phoenix metropolitan area.

AMR is proud to be a long-standing partner of Banner Health, the Glendale Fire Department and Glendale Police Department.

We can’t wait to see the positive impacts this expansion has on the community for years to come!
