If you're about to travel for medical reasons, avoiding the flu is paramount.

Flu season is in full swing, and along with holiday season it can be quite an added stress on your body and immune system. For any of our travel patients who are heading in an air ambulance for any type of medical procedure, getting the flu just isn't an option.

Continued amendments to air ambulance safety regulations may be seen if current regulations do not lower accident rates to an acceptable level. Expect the FAA and the air ambulance industry itself to continue to look for ways to improve the safety and efficiency of operations.

Ongoing changes to air ambulance safety regulations are being implemented in hopes that the unique form of emergency transport can be made safer and more efficient for both hospitals and their patients, according to news reports and the Federal Aviation Administration.
