Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona We champion and celebrate ALL people who have Down syndrome from birth and throughout their lives. We host an annual Sharing Down Syndrome Walk each fall.

We promote positive acceptance and inclusion for all people with Down syndrome. Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona is a support organization founded by Gina Johnson in 1991. We provide parent programs to empower and educate parents, as well as the entire family and community. We provide information and resources to people on how to navigate the special needs of a person(s) with Down syndrome. We also p

rovide bereavement support, personal home and hospital visits, monthly newsletters, social events, advocacy and professional referrals.

The end of last month, the Hoffman family visited the “Batcave” for an unforgettable crime-fighting experience through the incredible — and it was nothing short of magical. Watching Blake step into his superhero role with so much excitement and joy made the day incredibly special for everyone involved.

The ongoing “Batcave” experiences created by the foundation are all about creating meaningful memories for children with disabilities and their families while celebrating the power of generosity, inclusion, and joy.

We are also deeply grateful to the Colten Cowell Foundation for their continued support of Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona, including another generous $3,000 donation that helps us continue serving families in our community.

‘Sam’s Prom’ took place this weekend and it was such a beautiful night. 💫

Sweet Ashley was asked to ‘Sam’s Prom’ by Red Mountain High School student, Caleb Hanchett, last month at our Sharing Down Syndrome Walk, and getting to see them together at prom made the night even more special!

This was the 6th annual Sam’s Prom — created in honor of Sam, who passed away at 16 from su***de. Sam was known for being the light of every room, making people feel welcomed, seen, and celebrated. He especially loved the Down syndrome community and anyone who simply needed a friend. 🤍

What started from heartbreak has become a night full of joy, inclusion, dancing, laughter, and love. The prom is open to the special needs community along with high school students who want to come dance, connect, and celebrate together. ✨

A truly special night carrying on Sam’s beautiful legacy!
