Our friends at NIOSH National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health want to hear directly from the fire service.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is conducting a survey to better understand the human factors involved in firefighter line-of-duty deaths (LODDs) and serious injury investigations. The information gathered will help strengthen future investigations and develop better tools and recommendations that can help prevent similar tragedies.

👨‍🚒 NIOSH is looking for input from:
• Chief Officers
• Company Officers
• Firefighters
• Especially those who have served as Safety Officers

⏱️ The survey takes about 15–20 minutes to complete.
🔒 Responses are confidential, voluntary, and no personal or department-identifying information is collected.
📅 The survey is open until January 2027.

Every firefighter’s experience matters. By taking a few minutes to participate and sharing this survey with others in your department, you’re helping improve firefighter safety for generations to come.
