• 156,000 Allied troops landed in Normandy.
• More than 5,000 ships and landing craft supported the invasion.
• Thousands never made it off the beaches.
• The operation marked the beginning of the end of N**i control in Western Europe.

What stands out most isn’t the scale. It’s the courage.

Most of those young men had no idea what would happen when the ramps dropped. They moved forward anyway.

D-Day is a reminder that freedom isn’t inherited. Every generation benefits from sacrifices made by people they will never meet.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

Not all wounds are visible.

For many combat veterans, the battle does not end when they come home. The memories, stress, and invisible scars can remain long after the physical wounds have healed.

We want every veteran to know that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Healing is possible, and no one has to face these challenges alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out. Talk to a fellow veteran, a family member, a chaplain, a counselor, or the VA. One conversation can make a difference.

Together, we honor the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes and reaffirm our commitment to supporting those carrying invisible wounds.

Honoring Leadership and Service

The 2026 Courageous Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets recently hosted its annual banquet, bringing together cadets, families, and supporters to celebrate a year of achievement, growth, and dedication.

The Space Coast Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart was proud to recognize an outstanding cadet with a Leadership Award for exemplifying the values of integrity, commitment, and service to others.

Adding to the significance of the presentation, one of our own chapter members, a U.S. Navy Corpsman, proudly represented the organization and assisted in presenting the award to this deserving young leader.

Congratulations to the award recipient and to all the cadets who continue to demonstrate excellence, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. We are honored to support and encourage the next generation of Americans who are preparing to serve their communities and our nation with distinction.

Yesterday marked a proud moment for Brevard County as Titusville officially becomes the second Purple Heart City in the county. 🇺🇸💜

This designation honors the brave men and women who were wounded or killed in combat while serving our nation. By becoming a Purple Heart City, Titusville joins a growing commitment to recognize the sacrifice and service of our combat wounded veterans.
