Friends of Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary is approximately 1500 acres of conservation land ranging from Old Audubon Road to SR-528 on Merritt Island. Hike the trails!

Ulumay is the oldest place name in Brevard County, Florida. The property was named during a Spanish expedition from St Augustine, based upon the identity of an AIS Native Indian camp found nearby.

Biologist Tim Kozusko will be speaking Thursday, Feb 11 at Merritt Island Public Library at 6:30 about The Nature of Science. Tim has been a ffavorite speaker, sharing insights about Cocoa Beach Thousand Islands, Climate Change, the Kissimmee Prairie , the Grasshopper Sparrow, Importance of Fire in Land Management, which often included history, geology and biology. This presentation will be informative as well as mind provoking! Hope you can come and please share this invite .

Thanks to Robbyn Spratt, Brevard County Stormwater Engineer, for an outstanding presentation last evening at the Friends of Ulumay meeting at the Merritt Island Public Library. We learned that denitrification technology is working to remove nutrients before stormwater reaches the Lagoon.
