Today, the Village of Merrionette Park joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken, the courageous first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless heroes who answered the call in the days, months, and years that followed.

We also remember the strength and unity our country showed in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

May we continue to honor their memory and keep their families, our first responders, our military, and all those forever affected by September 11th in our thoughts and prayers.

🚗 VILLAGE STICKER REMINDER 🚗

Please ensure that your Village of Merrionette Park vehicle sticker is properly displayed on your vehicle.

Village stickers are required, so please take a moment to check your vehicle and make sure your sticker is current and visible.

⚠️ Vehicles without a valid Village sticker may be subject to enforcement.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our Village in compliance!

🌱 REMINDER: PLEASE CLEAN UP GRASS CLIPPINGS! 🌱

Residents are reminded to clean up all grass clippings and yard debris after mowing and do not blow grass clippings into the street.

🚫 Grass clippings, leaves, and other yard debris can enter our storm drains and cause problems with our sewer system, including clogged drains and drainage issues.

Please help protect our sewer system and keep our streets and neighborhood clean.

✅ Keep grass clippings on your property
✅ Sweep or blow clippings back onto your lawn
✅ Keep storm drains and gutters clear

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: This will be strictly enforced by Village Code Enforcement.

Please be considerate of your neighbors and our community by cleaning up after mowing.

🚧 119TH STREET CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

Residents, please be aware of ongoing pavement rehabilitation work along 119th Street from Kedzie Avenue to Western Avenue as part of the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways improvement project.

⚠️ EXPECT DELAYS
Motorists should anticipate lane closures and lane restrictions throughout the project. While one lane in each direction is expected to remain open, delays may occur.

🚗 Please use caution when traveling through the construction zone, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes when possible.

The project includes:
• Pavement resurfacing and patching
• New pavement markings
• Detector loop replacement
• Improvements designed to provide a smoother and safer roadway

📅 Construction: Spring 2026 – Fall 2026

📌 Please see the attached Cook County flyer for additional project information, traffic impacts, and contact information.
