June 25th was Merrimack’s 11th annual NH Hot Dogz 🌭for Alzheimers event!

What a great day… for a great cause!!!!

HUGE thanks to:

-Event organizers Linda & Greg Durbin, and Dave Brown along with
-The ‘HotDogz Team’ who gave so much of their time and effort;
-The many volunteers who helped the day go off without a hitch;
-The vendors who provided donations and/or attended;
-Members of the community who supported the cause with either a purchase or donation; and
-All those whose monetary donations had totaled $10,000 before the event ended.

It has been an honor to continue to be able to participate in this amazing and fun event, and we look forward to volunteering each year. We all know someone affected by this terrible disease…for me (Nancy), this was both my dad and mother-in-law. We are always in awe and thankful for the level of support this event receives.

If you missed it, 😉 we will see you at the cashier counter next year… and we’ll always be happy to take your 💸 to support such a worthy cause!

Nancy and I had a great time volunteering at the Hot Dog days fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association yesterday. It was great to see so many friends and neighbors come out to support this great cause and THANK YOU for your generosity. Our hearts go out to the many who shared your stories of dealing with this horrible disease. You are not alone.

My (Nancy’s) Merrimack Town Council colleagues and I were delighted to be present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for this wonderful community event!

Thank you, Sharon Hickey for sharing this important public message about cyanobacteria and the cooperative efforts to protect public health and mitigate its impact upon Baboosic Lake. Studies have shown a correlation between ALS and exposure to cyanobacteria. Kudos to all the environmental and public health advocates who have spearheaded this initiative, and to my friend and colleague, Rosemarie Rung, NH State Representative who has done yeoman’s work in the legislature relative to cyanobacteria and the protection of NH water bodies.

Thank you to our friend and NH House of Representatives colleague, State Rep. Jodi K Newell, prime sponsor of (HB140) the New Hampshire Blue Envelope Program. This program was officially signed into law by Governor Kelly Ayotte in May 2025 and is designed to improve traffic stop interactions for drivers with autism spectrum disorders and trauma- or stressor-related disorders. The voluntary envelopes are available at New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) locations. Thank you, Merrimack Police Department for sharing info about this valuable program with our community and all that you do to help those who will benefit.
