MUTUAL AID FIRE, LADDER TO SCENE at 700 MERRICK RD , BALDWIN

On 6/26/25 Merrick Truck Co. responded to assist the with a fire in an apartment building.

Members assisted with primaries on the 3rd floor and were met with a well spread cockloft fire. Crews ultimately determined that breaching a wall on the 3rd floor would be the best way to reach the other side of the apartment complex and extinguish the fire.

An extensive roof operation was also conducted.

Great work by all Departments involved.

AUTO ACCIDENT W/FIRE at MEADOWBROOK STATE PKWY

At around 10 PM on Monday April 14th, 2025, the Merrick Fire Department responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident with overturn, entrapment, and fire in the northbound lanes of the Meadowbrook State Parkway just north of Babylon Turnpike.

Truck Company extricated the sole occupant of the vehicle on fire while the Engine Companies deployed a hand line and extinguished the fire.

Both drivers were transported to hospitals for evaluation.

Great work by all 3 companies lead to a successful outcome.

🚨 Wednesday, 01/17/24 at approximately 11:20am, the Merrick Fire Department was alerted for an auto accident with overturn at the intersection of Washington Street and Thelma Avenue.
