On Sunday, May 31, the Merrick Fire Department responded to reports of an MVA on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. On arrival, crews found three vehicles involved. Fire department and county EMTs attended to five people on scene. It was reported that an additional individual fled the scene.

On Monday, May 25, Empire Hose Company 3 hosted Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman along with Senator Steve Rhoads and County Legislator Michael Giangregorio for a Memorial Day ceremony. An extended siren was sounded to recognize those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we may be free.

On the evening of Tuesday, May 26, the was alerted to a report of a kitchen fire. Both engines 641 and 642 responded to the scene along with apparatus from and Merrick Truck Co. 1 . E643 was first due and one hose line was stretched. No injuries were reported and the scene was quickly under control. All units were under the command of Asst. Chief Miner.
