This past weekend, the Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in the Irish Society of North Alabama's 49th Annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick's Day Parade. It was a great turnout, and we even had a couple of wild passengers with us!

Today firefighters from Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department, Hazel Green Fire Department, Toney Fire Department, Bobo Fire Department, and Moore’s Mill Fire Department worked together to contain and extinguish a large field fire that consumed approximately 45 acres of a cut corn field. Teamwork between all agencies led to a successful multi-agency operation, in extreme heat, in a remote location.

We are thankful for our neighboring departments and their members. Also special thanks to Plant Farms, Tate Farm, and Bragg Farm.

It has been brought to our attention that people are receiving telephone calls and have people coming to their doors soliciting for donations to our department. Our department does not call or go door to door. The only official donation request is with our news letter that was mailed earlier this year. If you do have someone come to your residence asking for money please notify the Madison County Sheriffs Department.

Again any solicitation for donation on behalf of the Meridianville Volunteer Fire Department by phone or in person is a scam. If you have any questions please feel free to either call us or leave us a message and we will get back with you as soon as possible.
