Meridian Vfd This is the official page for the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department. All contributions go directly toward the department.

Meridian Volunteer Fire Department serves and is located in the county seat of Bosque County, Texas. There are currently 21 firefighters on the department which covers 135 square miles, 4 major state highways, several farm roads, and countless county roads, ranches and citizens. MVFD is very thankful to all those who support the department through fund-raising, bottled water donations or financial

donations. Financial contributions are used for equipment upgrade and repairs, firefighter training, and support supplies including bottled water. Meridian Fire Department would also like to acknowledge our neighboring fire departments who we provide and receive mutual aid assistance if needed. Mutual aid provides double the resources and personnel to make sure a fire or other incident is resolved quickly and more property is preserved. Our mutual aid partners include Cranfills Gap, Iredell, Walnut Springs, Morgan, Lakeside Village, West Shore and Clifton Volunteer Fire Departments.

Today, Meridian Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of assisting with traffic control as the funeral procession for Patrol Sergeant Marty Golightly made its way through our community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to help ensure a safe passage and to pay our respects alongside those honoring his life and service. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Sergeant Golightly’s family, friends, fellow officers, and all those whose lives he touched.

Thank you for your service and dedication. Rest easy, Sergeant Golightly.

Yesterday, MVFD responded to a mulcher (cedar eater) fire. Equipment like this can generate a lot of heat, and in dry conditions, it doesn’t take much for a fire to start.

Our crews were able to quickly contain the fire and keep it from spreading further.

As always, we’re here when you need us.
