Many of our country's incarcerated have little, if any outside support and/or resources. We at IA, strongly feel that helping prisoners preserve outside communications and build social relationships is critical to their positive re-entry into society. The small act of providing IA's services to inmates, offers hope where there often is none, prevents dehumanization, allows inmates to maintain social skills and helps keep our fellow man mentally strong throughout their incarceration. In providing these services, we also give inmates an incentive to good behavior while incarcerated given the fact that it is necessary for them to have access to their email accounts. Receiving tickets for misconduct could result in loss of this privilege. We also encourage our clients towards positive re-entry into society after prison. We provide information to prisoners about the outside resources available to them in their area.
