Beat the Heat! Here are some summer safety tips as the weather gets warmer. If you are going to be outside today it is important to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun! This includes wearing protective clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, and seeking shade when possible.

Both the Library and Senior Center (lower level) will be open during regular business hours for individuals in need to take a break from the heat.

Persons can also call 2-1-1 or search the 2-1-1 website for a list of cooling centers statewide.

Governor Lamont has has directed the Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol to be activated. The Extreme Hot Weather Protocol will be activated effective at 10:00am on Thursday, June 11, 2026 through 6:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
