Serve Your Community as a Fire Commissioner! 🚒
The Meridale Fire District is looking for a dedicated community member to step up and serve on our Board of Fire Commissioners!
What does a Fire Commissioner do?
Fire Commissioners are the elected or appointed community leaders who oversee the management and financial health of the fire district. In short, commissioners handle the business side of keeping our fire department running strong. Responsibilities include:
Budget & Finance: Helping manage the district budget to ensure taxpayers' dollars are used efficiently to fund vital equipment, gear, and operations.
Governance & Policy: Setting district policies, overseeing district operations, and ensuring compliance with local and state guidelines.
Community Advocacy: Representing the residents of our district and ensuring our volunteer firefighters have the tools, apparatus, and station support they need to protect our home.
Requirements:
Must reside full-time within the Meridale Fire District.
A strong commitment to supporting our local emergency services and community.
No prior firefighting experience required—just a desire to serve!
If you care about the future of our fire department and want to make a direct impact on public safety in Meridale, we want to hear from you.
📩 Interested or have questions? Send us a message right here on Facebook or reach out to any current board member or department officer for more details on how to apply.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Meridale Fire Department announces the passing of former member Steve Wilson.
Steve dedicated 8 years of faithful service to our department and community. His commitment to protecting and helping his neighbors left an indelible mark on Meridale, and his legacy of service will not be forgotten.
We extend our sincere condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Steve’s family, loved ones, and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother—we'll take it from here. 🚒🖤🚨

🚒 EQUIPMENT UPDATE & MUTUAL AID TRAINING 🚒
The Meridale Fire Department recently held a training and demonstration session for our newly acquired TurboDraft Fire Eductor!
Thanks to a grant, we were able to purchase this game-changing piece of equipment, which will drastically enhance our rural water supply operations by allowing us to tap into remote static water sources quickly and safely.
A huge thank you to Water Supply Innovations (WSI LLC) and Henry Lovett for providing top-notch training and walking us through the operation and capabilities of the TurboDraft.
We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to our neighboring departments—Treadwell Fire Department, Franklin Fire Department, and Delhi Fire Department—for coming out, helping with the setup, and training alongside us. Strong mutual aid partnerships keep all of our communities safer!
Check out a few photos from the training session below! 👇

We have noticed a lot of our neighboring departments posting an alert about scammers on their pages. We do not ask for money from our page, see tshirts and we will never have a direct link from our page to another page to take payment. Please be alert and reach out to us if you see anything suspicious or have any questions.
