Dale has been in the fire service for 26 years holding multiple positions including fire chief.

Dale has been employed by MMP&W for the last 7 years.

We asked Dale what his favorite food was and he answered “I eat pretty much anything”.

We also asked Dale what he likes to do when he has free time from working and he answered “spending time with his two daughters and camping”

Thank you Dale for being a devoted member of the Mercersburg community!

C shift taking in the reported house fire in the 11000 block of Burkett road. Turns out it was some burnt siding with no extension.

RE9/A9-9 along with A3-8 responded to a two vehicle accident on Rt 16 last evening. Patients were transported to local hospitals and crews mitigated any hazards prior to returning to service.

*Vehicle VS Horse and Buggy* Right at shift change C shift responded to the intersection of Fort Loudon Road and Mercersburg Road in Peters Township for an accident involving a horse and buggy. One patient was transported to a nearby trauma center by ground for injuries sustained in the accident. With warm weather many are out on bicycles, motorcycles, tractors tending to local farms and horse and buggy’s. The Franklin County Department of Emergency Services is seeking public feedback on its five-year Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) update. Draft sections of the plan are available for review online at https://bit.ly/3AXonGS and comments will be accepted through Friday, July 28.

The HMP outlines the more prevalent natural and man-made hazards in Franklin County and proposes actions or projects that can be implemented ahead of disasters to mitigate loss and damages. The HMP is a foundational document that helps define the threat environment for all emergency preparedness and planning efforts in the county and supports the goals and objectives identified in the Pennsylvania State Hazard Mitigation Plan. More importantly, the HMP enables the municipalities in Franklin County which adopt this plan to compete for federal disaster mitigation funding.

Public feedback is critical to ensuring the HMP is thorough and comprehensive.

07/25 B shift is currently on scene in the 9100 Block of Heisey Road in Montgomery Township for a hazmat. Units were called at the request of State Police who had a tractor trailer leaking Eggs into a nearby creek.
