The Auxiliary will have the Legion Community Building open from 6:00 to 7:00 pm starting this evening weekly thru the winter for exercising and walking. The public is welcome to this free activity

Free Missouri license plates are available for veterans who have a service connected disability. If you served honourably and have a service connected disability you can get one set of license plates free. To do so, complete Department of Revenue form 4601 and present a statement from VA (not more than 1 year old) stating that you have a service connected disability. A statement from a VA doctor or hospital will not work. You need to contact your VA regional office to get this statement sent to you. There is a limit of one set of free plates per applicant. These plates can be personalised with your own wording, a service logo, or a service medal. These are done at no cost as well. The website is https://dor.mo.gov/motor.../plates/disabled-veteran.html

There will be information personnel available at the VFW post in Princeton Missouri on Saturday, 6 September, 2025 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. Any veteran who would like information about VA claims, VA benefits, or any other information or assistance, such as telephone numbers for VA or other government agencies, is welcome to attend. Membership in any service organization is not required to attend this event. Assistance with VA claims is also available. Preliminary forms can be completed and forwarded to a certified Veteran's Service Officer for further action. Please stop by!

Leading the way - honouring the flag. The Mercer American Legion Post led the parade at Mercer Homecoming on 25 July, 2025. The flag was brought to the grandstand by a Legion colour guard where it was honoured with the national anthem. The flag then continued through the rest of the parade route. The honour guard shown in the photo is, from left to right, Greg Frost, Denny Hagan, and Ron Hoover. It is always a privelege for us to carry the flag, the symbol of our great nation, in the parade or anywhere else we go.
