Green Ribbon Commission Public-private partnership that encourages sustainable development on Mercer Island, WA What is the Green Ribbon Commission?

The Mercer Island Green Ribbon Commission is developing innovative ways to educate the community to encourage sustainable behaviors that will result in reducing our individual and the community’s carbon footprint. Initially the Green Ribbon Commission is focusing on transportation and home energy usage.

Way to go Emmanuel!

Over the past three months, members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church have readily accepted and met the “Carbon Challenge,” developed by the Mercer Island Green Ribbon Commission to reduce household and transportation carbon consumption in 22 different ways.
