⚽ The World Cup has officially arrived in Seattle! ⚽
The very first tournament match kicks off this Monday, June 15, at noon at Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field). Whether you are heading to the game or just navigating your Monday routine, here is what Mercer Island residents need to know to handle the match-day traffic and parking
🚆 Going to the Game? Take the Light Rail!
With massive crowds expected at the stadium, taking the Link Light Rail from Mercer Island Station is your absolute best bet. If you plan to park near the station, make sure you know your options:
Mercer Island Park & Ride: Expect this lot to be completely full on match days.
Town Center Parking Area: On match days, the first two hours of parking are free with registration. After two hours, a $25 daily rate applies.
Mercer Island Community & Event Center (MICEC): The public can park here on game days on a first-come, first-served basis starting 4 hours before kickoff (8:00 AM). Cost: FREE for Mercer Island residents! Non-residents pay $25 per game.
Not heading to the match? Try to avoid the Town Center and the I-90 corridor around the station during the late morning and late afternoon. Heavy congestion is highly likely as fans travel to and from the stadium.
