🌿💚 Community, teamwork, and a little fresh-air therapy! 💚🌿

Yesterday was a beautiful day at Goza Park, and we were so grateful to have the amazing employees of Old Navy join us in helping keep our community clean, beautiful, and welcoming! 🧹🌳✨

There’s something truly therapeutic about being outside, getting your hands dirty, working together, and seeing the difference you can make in just a few hours. 💪🏼🌱 Not only did they lend a helping hand, but they brought great energy and reminded us that keeping our city beautiful is something we can all be a part of!

Another successful tree planting event! Thank you to all the volunteers who showed up at HEB Park to help. Big thanks to our Mercedes Parks staff, Region One, Texas A&M Forest Service, MISD, and Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement - VIDA. We appreciate all the support in helping us Keep Mercedes Beautiful! We will see you in the fall for more planting events.

We’re excited to continue growing our Native Habitat Creation efforts here in Mercedes! 🌱 With support from the National Wildlife Federation, this initiative focuses on transforming our city parks into beautiful, sustainable native landscapes that support local wildlife and improve our community spaces. We’re currently looking for volunteers to join us—whether you’re experienced or just want to lend a hand, everyone is welcome! Come be a part of something meaningful, meet great people, and help make a lasting impact on our environment. Join us at the Mercedes Library during scheduled volunteer days—we hope to see you there!

🌿✨ Discover Organic Gardening at Mercedes Community Garden! ✨🌿

Our Discover Organic Gardening class at HEB Park was a great opportunity to learn and connect 🌱

Participants got hands-on experience exploring sustainable gardening techniques while enjoying the community garden space. A special highlight of the evening was a beautifully crafted birdhouse generously donated by Adin Martinez 🐦🏡 — adding even more life and purpose to our garden!

🌳Celebrate the coming of Spring early at the Mercedes Arbor Day tree planting event!🌳

Join the city in bringing a little more of Mother Nature to the Dome Safety Center, 1202 N. Vermont Ave. on Tuesday, February 24th, starting at 9am.

Participants can register onsite and will be given FREE trees to take home as a thank you for their time!

*Limited Tree Quantity*

*MUST be a Mercedes Resident*
