Merced College Faculty Association We (MCFA) represent all faculty (full-time and part-time) working at Merced College.

MCFA is the exclusive representative of faculty employees in matters relating to employment conditions including but not limited to, wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. As a representative body the purposes of MCFA also include: (1) developing group opinion on professional matters to speak with the district and its representatives, (2) providing the opportunity for study an

d action on problems of the profession (3) striving to raise the standards for community college education (4) representing ethnic-minority members (5) promoting professional attitudes and ethical conduct among members (6) encouraging cooperation and communication between the profession and the community

Hi faculty! Welcome to a new school year and a new chapter for MCFA. As President and Vice President, we’re looking forward to bringing a fresh approach focused on collaboration, organization, thoughtful planning, and the hard work it takes to make meaningful progress. Happy Saturday!

We want to take a moment to share our highlight from this past week. At the most recent Merced College Board of Trustees meeting last Tuesday, MCFA President Mike Weepers and Past President Megan Igo were there to help recognize Celia, who is entering her second year at Merced College, and retired faculty member Jaime Farao for receiving prestigious CATA honors.

Celia was named a CATA Teacher of Excellence, an award recognizing outstanding agricultural educators for their dedication, leadership, and impact on students.

Jaime Farao was inducted into the CATA Hall of Fame, recognizing a career of exceptional service and lasting contributions to agricultural education.

The Merced College Faculty Association is proud to celebrate their accomplishments and recognize the hard work, dedication, and passion they have brought to their students, colleagues, and the agricultural education community.

Congratulations, Celia and Jaime! Well deserved!
