Mentor Rocks: Bring yourself…but leave these things at home

As we gear up for another fantastic summer of music at Mentor Rocks, here are a few important facility rules to help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

No Coolers
Although permitted in the past, the city is implementing a new NO COOLERS policy this season. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome but must be hand carried. Those carrying coolers will be asked to return them to their vehicle.

No Outside Alcohol
The possession and consumption of outside alcohol in a city park is a criminal misdemeanor and will be enforced.

The consumption of outside alcohol on amphitheater grounds is also in conflict with the facility’s state-issued liquor permit. Violations can lead to the revocation of that permit by the state of Ohio.

No Glass Bottles
Glass bottles pose an inherent danger to both attendees and staff and are not permitted on amphitheater grounds.

No Food Deliveries
To avoid disrupting the show, please do not arrange food deliveries to the amphitheater field. If you need to coordinate a delivery, we recommend meeting the driver in the parking lot.

No Pets
For the comfort of all concertgoers, pets are not permitted on the grassy area of the main amphitheater grounds. And, it’s important to keep your pet’s well-being in mind as well. A dog’s hearing is 4 times more sensitive than a human. Prolonged loud music can stress your animal.

We want everyone to have an enjoyable Mentor Rocks experience this season as well as for years to come. So, bring yourself, as well as your family and friends, as we welcome another summer of fun!

Last Thursday morning, Officer Radigan joined Principal Mr. McKrill at Lake Catholic High School to greet students as they arrived for the day.

Students who were wearing their seatbelts were rewarded with a golden ticket️, which can be scanned for a chance to win some amazing prizes! This fun initiative is a great reminder that one simple choice—buckling up—can help keep everyone safer on the road.

A big shoutout to Cuyahoga County Safe Communities/Greater Cleveland Safe Kids for this awesome program and for helping encourage safe driving habits among our young drivers.

Stay safe, buckle up, and remember: Click It or Ticket!

Yesterday, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ohio traveled through Lake County as it continued its journey to Columbus!

We were honored to receive the torch hand-off from Painesville PD and ride alongside the Special Olympics Ohio Lake County cyclists. From there, we proudly carried the torch before handing it off to the Willoughby Police Department and continuing with them to Deepwood Industries, Inc. – Willoughby Branch.

A wonderful crowd was there to welcome the Special Olympics Ohio Lake County athletes, Willoughby Police Department, and our very own Mentor Police Officers as they biked their leg of the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

This event is always a powerful reminder of community, inclusion, determination, and support for the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Ohio. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, support, and be part of such a meaningful tradition!

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we spend time with family and friends, attend parades, or enjoy the start of summer, we are reminded that this day is about more than a long weekend—it is about gratitude, reflection, and remembrance.

From all of us at the Mentor Police Department, we honor our fallen heroes and extend our deepest respect to the families who carry their legacy forward.

We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, a time meant to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country, we also want to share an important reminder.

Tonight, it might feel like “just a few”… but in an instant, it could become a lifetime of consequences.

The choices we make — especially when it comes to drinking and driving — don’t just affect us. They impact families, friends, and entire communities.

This Memorial Day, please celebrate responsibly. Plan ahead, make safe choices, and look out for one another.

Let’s honor the meaning of this weekend by keeping everyone safe.

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of summer - and one of the most dangerous times on the road.

If you are celebrating:
Plan a sober ride
Use a rideshare or designated driver
Take the keys from someone who shouldn't drive

Because one decision can change everything!
Drive sober. Make it home.

😲 Well… THAT was fast!

Sisters Taylor and Lexi Garrison are our first Treasure Hunt winners! They discovered the hidden treasure underneath a picnic table at Bellflower Park while simply bringing their kids to enjoy some time on the playground.

Of course, they didn’t do it alone! They had some help from Taylor’s children, Lincoln and Paxton, and Lexi’s daughter, Ellie. Sounds like a full team effort and a perfect day at the park!

Great teamwork, sharp eyes, and a little curiosity go a long way — nicely done!
Stay tuned… next week’s treasure might not be found quite so quickly!
