This year, we completed a Community To***co Survey for the first time since 2023. Unfortunately, some of the results were not as we hoped.

We saw a decrease ⬇in the number of respondents (50% to 49.2%) who supported smoking restrictions in public spaces, and a significant increase ⬆in people (35% to 51.1%) who were exposed to secondhand smoke at outdoor events.

Secondhand smoke remains a danger to everyone, and LCGHD will continue to work to reduce public exposure. For more information on the dangers of secondhand smoke, visit https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/secondhand-smoke/index.html

Today may still be Monday, but tomorrow is...
..TIP-IT TUESDAY!!!

Lake County Mosquito Control is asking residents to empty out any container in your yard that holds water every Tuesday, or anytime after it rains.

Mosquitoes breed in standing water. One teaspoon of water can breed up to 300 eggs!

Take a look around your yard. What do you have lying around? If there are buckets, barrels, wagons, toys, potted plants, tires, bird baths or pet bowls holding any water at all, they might be breeding mosquitoes!

There is an easy fix. Tip it over! Dump it out! Help us control mosquito breeding in Lake County and keep you safe from illnesses caused by mosquitoes.
