D Day Remembrance
On this day in 1944, more than 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most pivotal moments in history. Their courage and sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today.
The Mentor on the Lake Fire Department joins our community in pausing to reflect, honor, and remember. Their legacy reminds us that service, whether on the battlefield or here at home is one of the highest callings.
We remember the fallen.
We honor the heroes.
We carry their legacy with pride.
We will never forget.

Honoring the Fallen
Today, we stand together as a community to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy, and we pause to remember each hero who never made it home.

As we gather with family, attend ceremonies, or take a quiet moment of reflection, we encourage everyone to remember the true meaning of this day. Memorial Day is not about celebration β€” it is about gratitude, remembrance, and honoring those who served with courage and selflessness.

From all of us at the Mentor-on-the-Lake Fire Department, we extend our deepest respect to the families of the fallen and to all who continue to serve.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
