​MENTONE, IN — On Friday, October 23, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Mentone Police Department executed a search warrant as part of an active criminal investigation.
​Officers took Anthony Hackworth into custody without incident during the search. Hackworth was the sole occupant at the location during the operation. On site, officers located and seized a fi***rm, illegal narcotics, and extensive drug paraphernalia.
​The Mentone Police Department expresses its appreciation to the Silver Lake Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Indiana State Police SWAT Team for their crucial assistance in safely executing this operation.
​This investigation remains active and ongoing. Further details will be released as the case progresses.
​All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

COMMUNITY NOTICE

The Mentone Police Department would like to inform residents that the local Dollar General will have a delayed opening today and is scheduled to open at 2:00 PM.

This temporary adjustment is due to staffing assignments related to training at the new store location in Etna Green. There is no safety concern or emergency situation at the store.

Dollar General won't be opening until 2pm. Tuesday August 25

The Warsaw Police Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office are proud to announce the 26th session of the Citizen’s Police Academy. The academy will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30, beginning September 16 and concluding November 18.

The academy is open to all residents of Kosciusko County and offers a first-person experience of law enforcement operations. Topics covered include K9, dive, SWAT, traffic stops and the Kosciusko County judicial system.

The application deadline is September 2nd.
