Thank you for your thoughts from my recent post. You all make a difference in all you do, and we do wish to thank the two donors who made a donation. Their donation will buy two-three pairs of shoes for the kids. The gratitude felt from our parents touches our hearts and you don't often get to read a note from one of our families, I have permission to share this note with all of you:

"I just want to thank you once again for everything. The girls really enjoyed shopping there and had a great time with you and the store we all did and I just want to thank you so so much.! they look so beautiful and nice in their outfits that they got from you. It’s a beautiful thing you do over there.! I hope you have a wonderful day! "

For those of you who have supported Angels' Closet for the past 17 years, we thank you. As I said in an earlier post, we have more homeless families living in motels, shared housing, some in their cars, and other difficult situations. In addition, they don’t have a vehicle, or if they do, they don't have the money for gas to go to several different places for assistance. Many of the families we serve use public transportation, rely on their friends, family, or neighbors to drive them, or often they walk. By doing what we are doing, we hope to make it easier for the family as they can shop for their children at Angels' Closet at one location rather than having to travel to two or three different locations.

I wish you could see the joy you have brought to these families, we give them hope, and change the lives of their children, as they can now to school with clothing they feel good in, look good in, an no longer have to worry about being teased and bullied.

By doing this, it helps them stay in school, graduate, go to vocational school, college, or join the Armed Services. This is life changing and we thank you for helping us help these kids who have so little. We welcome your financial support so we can continue doing what we do. Thank you very much.

Even in this heat we are doing student appointments. We are seeing an increasing number of families without housing. We appreciate all of the support we have in this community to serve these families

We have had a joyful time at the closet. We have wonderful new and gently used clothing, clothes they are thrilled to wear. We are so thankful for all of you who have donated clothing, bought new clothing, donated money purchased toiletries and bath and body sprays, and lotions (as they never get these items), and attended our fundraisers. Since July we have scheduled shopping appointments for the neediest of our students. Most are homeless, many have never been clothes shopping - they get hand me downs. The happiness, joy, and excitement these children expressed as they go through the racks of clothing choosing their favorite outfits is an experience as I will never forget.

A special thank you to Sarah Long who comes in every Tuesday and steam irons the clothing (they look like new), and the National Charity Young ladies for doing the laundry so the clothes are clean and smell good. A very special thank you to our amazing volunteers who are at the closet every week helping the children.

Thank you all of you for giving hope and joy to the children we serve. You have made a difference, as clothes do make a difference and we see it every day.
