We're proud to share this fundraiser benefiting the Menomonie Police Department's Wellness Initiative. Join MPD at Culver's North Menomonie on Tuesday, June 23, from 4–7 p.m. for dinner, games, dunk tanks, and community connection. It's a fun way to spend an evening with family while helping invest in the health and wellness of our local officers and staff.

We hope you'll join us!

At the Menomonie Police Department, caring for our community starts with caring for the people who serve it.

Police work can be physically and mentally demanding. Through our Wellness Initiative, we're working to provide resources that help officers and staff manage stress, recover from long shifts, and prioritize their overall well-being. This fundraiser will support our next wellness enhancement!

Join us Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Culver's North Menomonie for a fun-filled evening of dinner, dunk tanks, games, and community connection. Ten percent of Culver's sales during the event will support the fundraiser.

Whether you come to dunk an officer, enjoy a meal with your family, or simply show your support, thank you for helping us invest in the health and well-being of those who serve Menomonie each day.

With rain in this week's forecast, now is a great time to give your automatic sprinklers a break. Residents and businesses are encouraged to turn off automatic sprinklers during wet weather to help conserve water and support efficient use of the City's water system.

As summer temperatures rise and drier conditions return, the City of Menomonie's Alternate Side Lawn Irrigation program remains in effect through September 1. This long-standing practice helps reduce strain on the water system and maintain steady water pressure during periods of peak demand.

💧 Even-numbered addresses (like 620 11th St.) may water lawns only on even-numbered days (June 2, 4, 6, etc.).

💧 Odd-numbered addresses (like 621 11th St.) may water lawns only on odd-numbered days (June 1, 3, 5, etc.).

Why it matters: During the summer months, lawn watering causes a significant increase in water use. By spreading irrigation across alternating days, we can help ensure reliable water service throughout the community, especially during dry spells and times of high demand.

Thank you for doing your part to help conserve water and support a reliable water system for everyone in Menomonie.

Maintaining strong neighborhoods and working together to address housing concerns is an ongoing effort throughout our community.

The Neighborhood Stabilization and Enhancement District (NSED) is a designated area southeast of the UW–Stout campus that was established to help support well-maintained housing and neighborhood stability for both tenants and property owners.

Through the NSED program, the City of Menomonie's Building Inspections and Zoning Department conducts proactive rental inspections to help identify potential health and safety concerns before they become larger issues. The goal is to work alongside property owners, encourage quality housing, and provide resources that help maintain the character and livability of the neighborhood.

Property owners outside of the district who are interested in the same proactive inspection program can also choose to participate voluntarily.

Whether you're a tenant, property owner, or simply interested in learning more, we encourage you to visit the City's NSED webpage to view the district map, read frequently asked questions, and access information developed specifically for tenants and property owners.

A friendly reminder to residents that the City of Menomonie’s Alternate Side Irrigation policy is in place! To prevent strain on the city’s water system, and maintain steady water pressure during peak summer use, we're asking residents to follow these guidelines:

Even-numbered addresses (like 620 11th St) may water lawns only on even-numbered days (June 2, 4, 6, etc.).
Odd-numbered addresses (like 621 11th St) may water lawns only on odd-numbered days (June 1, 3, 5, etc.).

Why it matters: During summer, lawn watering causes a huge spike in water use. Spreading irrigation across alternating days helps the city deliver reliable water service to all residents, especially during dry spells or high demand. When it rains, don’t forget to turn off your automatic sprinklers! Lawns only need 1 to 1.5 inches of water per week (from rain or irrigation) to stay healthy.

Reminder: The City of Menomonie’s long grass ordinance takes effect next week on June 1.

As warmer weather arrives and lawns continue to grow, regular yard maintenance helps keep neighborhoods safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. It also helps improve visibility near sidewalks and intersections and prevents grass clippings from washing into storm drains and local waterways.

A few reminders:
• Grass and boulevards must be kept under 9 inches in height, as outlined in City Ordinance Title 5, Chapter 1, Section 4F. If grass exceeds that height, property owners will receive a notice and have 5 days to comply before possible citations are issued.

• Grass clippings should not be blown into streets or storm drains. Clippings can create hazards for pedestrians and cyclists and may impact local water quality. Instead, mulch them into your lawn, compost them, or bring them to the Solid Waste & Recycling Site.
