Ashley for Menomonie Mayor

Ashley for Menomonie Mayor Running for mayor of Menomonie, WI Spring 2022

03/31/2026

I’m proud to support Matthew Crowe for Mayor of Menomonie.

Matthew has been deeply involved in our community—serving on City Council and multiple committees—but what sets him apart is that he doesn’t just hold a seat. He shows up, asks the hard questions, and pushes things forward in a thoughtful, cohesive way.
He is a genuine leader who naturally garners support from not only the constituents but others on the council and in administration.

I’ve seen the conversation around the data center, and I’ll say this simply—if you trusted me to run and gave me your support, you can trust Matthew with your vote.

There is a distinct playbook that is being used, as is typical in elections, fear. Be above it, for what my word is worth, he is anti-data center. As someone who had their privacy invaded to the utmost running for mayor, these people are vile and destructive, they will go to all ends. Calling your employers, hacking email accounts, threatening your businesses and general harassment. I get it, some people don't want to know or acknowledge these things but they are real and I'm sick of watching it. Menomonie deserves better. We deserve a reflection of the kind of people and community we want to be in our leadership.

On a personal level, I’m proud to call Matthew a friend. He’s an incredible husband and father, and his wife Chelsea is just as impressive—strong, thoughtful, and someone he clearly respects in his decision-making. That says a lot about who he is.

I’ll also share this—early on, I considered running myself. But I knew Matthew would outwork anyone in the room, and he has. He understands what this role demands, and so does his family.

Matthew is beyond qualified—but more importantly, he’s the right kind of person for the kind of change Menomonie needs.

I wholeheartedly support him as our next mayor. It’s exciting to think about the shift in energy and direction our community can have with his leadership. Please vote Mathew Crowe your 2026 Menomonie Mayor.

This one sucks to write….

Over the past several months, I’ve been honored by the encouragement and confidence so many residents have expressed in my leadership. My full intention was to run for mayor this cycle, and I believe I have the capabilities, work ethic, and qualifications to lead Menomonie—experience that includes managing multi-million-dollar budgets, creating jobs, expanding economic growth, and advancing major community projects.

In the four years since I last ran, I’ve remained committed to the pillars I campaigned on. I’ve worked to address our housing shortage through the upcoming Tanglewood development. I opened a downtown business built to support entrepreneurs and drive innovation. I established a strong partnership with UW–Stout to better connect our city and our university. And I managed a growing golf course operation that contributed over $700,000 in wages and even more in economic impact for Menomonie.

I have also demonstrated resilience. The illegal actions taken against me during the last election created challenges no one should face, yet I continued to show up, rebuild, and lead. The support I received from this community strengthened my resolve, and I remain committed to giving back that same level of support, stability, and courage.

As additional candidates enter this race, many community members have raised concerns that a split vote could help keep Randy in office. My priority is Menomonie’s progress. I will not make a decision that risks slowing our momentum or compromising our future.

For that reason, I will not be entering the race this cycle. This decision reflects my commitment to putting Menomonie first. I will continue to serve, lead, and advocate for this community in every way I can, and I remain deeply grateful for the trust so many of you have placed in me.

This chapter is not closed—this is simply the right strategic decision for today.

Funny thing, at the park today and I look over and see so many kids of all ages and even an adult teaching his son to skateboard. That’s not what’s funny of course, that’s just a beautiful thing on a beautiful day.

What’s funny is I distinctly remember being maybe a middle schooler at the time the skate park was being talked about and how much contention there was about it.

What started as something people were hesitant about became a positive, active place in town.

Sometimes the things we’re most unsure of end up being exactly what our community needs. 🛹❤️

Hey Menomonie....😊

05/25/2022

I just wanted to post something today concerning the events in Texas yesterday because....well I'm a mother and it hurts my heart what those parents and that community are trying to do today.

This is about a sick individual hurting where he could hurt most. The potential of those children was endless and now unknown. I hope today, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be thinking about it over the next days and weeks, we can be thankful for the community we live in. Be thankful for the buzzers on the entrances to our schools and be thankful to the staff that, whether they signed up for it or not, watch over our children everyday they go to school.

I think the lesson is love, love your children. Pay attention to them, get them support when they need it. Make it your whole goal to parent as intentionally as you possibly can. Spend time with them. Time and love are free and yet we have to "carve" it out of our day to give it to our families. Maybe today instead of worrying about who should have guns or mental illness you choose to hug your kids one more quick squeeze or say how proud you are of them or ask if they need anything from you. Keep the focus on the lesson, not the divide.

I just want to say thank you to every single one of you!! I didn't make it in however, you showed Randy and many others you're looking for MORE.

The vote was 1270 to 1008. THAT'S INCREDIBLE and I appreciate every single one of them. Keep pushing, keep asking questions, make your leadership listen...don't let off the gas, just refocus your energy.

If we all choose something to care about on a city level and volunteer and get involved we will change things.

My family and I appreciate you all. It's been an incredible experience.

Thank You
